reference... IS MUSIC A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE?

This week ABC Radio National's Into the Music starts playing the CBC's six-part series, THE NERVE... about music and the human experience - it's a great series... lots of very funky sound design and great music montages.

The series is produced by Chris Brookes, Paolo Pietropaolo and Jowi Taylor - the same people who made the highly acclaimed THE WIRE series - which won prizes at both the Third Coast and Prix Italia festivals.

Anyway, I was very inspired by THE WIRE - it had a big influence on my approach to making IS MUSIC A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE? and so I stole and embedded about four seconds of their show in my show - a way to acknowledge it.
